Writing Consultant at the Eberly Writing Studio
During my freshman year, I became a writing consultant at WVU's Eberly Writing Studio. I decided to apply for the position because I thought that I was qualified and that it would expand my knowledge of writing. Not only did this position challenge and improve my writing abilities , it also increased my communication skills. I learned to work with students with different backgrounds, education levels, and language barriers. The variety of students I worked with taught me how to adapt my teaching style and explain the different stages of writing in multiple ways.
My three years as an Eberly Writing Studio Consultant not only enabled me to attend two different conferences, but also improved my abilities to work with others and collaborate on long-term projects. I worked with a small group of my fellow consultants to create the Eberly Writing Studio poster, which is pictured below. To create this, I used InDesign and Photoshop, as well as contacted all of the consultants for their information that is listed.

In my last year as a consultant, I became more involved with the studio community and began participating in workshops for students outside of normal studio hours. I also began running the Instagram page for the writing studio to increase student awareness of the free writing assistance they have access to as WVU students.
